Visas Required for our South America trip
We will be visiting 9 countries in South America. Fortunately we only have to get visas for one of these countires and that is Brazil. This was made easy for us as the visa can be issued by the Brizilian consulate office in Toronto. The application form can be filled out on the internet and it is checked for correctness on the internet. Once a correct application is made, it is then printed and mailed to the Consulado-General do Brizil in Toronto with a passport and $106.25 certified cheque. We sent the passports, applications and certified cheques by Canada Post express priority mail with a prepaid return envelop. We mailed the package on a Friday and received our Brizilian visas and passports the following Friday. This was important to us as we must have our passports as we frequently cross the Detroit River to go over to the United States in Detroit for shopping, shows and visiting our friends. In addition we received a note from the cruise line that we cannot board the ship in New York unless we have a Brizilian visa as our trip will be terminating in Rio de Jeneiro, Brazil where we have to catch a flight back to Detroit.
